How to Make Perfume Last
When it comes to fragrances and perfumes, I tend to stand alone in my choices and tastes for someone my age.

Actually, I sometimes feel like a snob. What most of my friends call "perfume”, I call body spray. And it is. It’s a body spray from Bath and Body or Victoria’s Secret. I never ever correct my friends because: a) who am I to do such a thing, and b) that’s rude in my book. But generally my friends think that Chanel No. 5 smells "too old” and that my Couture by Badgley Mischka is just no good. I nearly cry every time they criticize my fragrance collection.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t wear my Japanese Cherry Blossom by Bath and Body Works nearly everyday (oddly enough if you wear Japanese Cherry Blossom body lotion and wear Paris Hilton’s Can Can perfume, you will undoubtedly be the most gorgeous smelling creature on earth!)

The first step in making the scent from perfume oils last through the day is knowing that perfumes and colognes like moist skin. If your skin is too dry, the perfume or cologne is absorbed rapidly because of the amount of alcohol in it. Keeping your skin moisturized will help it last. Often you can match your perfume or cologne to a lotion or cream to help it keep its staying power. If you don't have a lotion to match, petroleum jelly works just as well and helps lock in the scent.
Your body is also equipped with little heat sensors throughout it called pressure points. These points are filled with blood vessels closer to your skin than any other point and act as little heat conductors. Applying scent to these pressure points will help activate the oils.
